Meet our team Apply for care today, click the button below Apply for care My name is Trish Langley Frempong. A number of life experiences led me to the career path of midwifery. From studying Sociology as my undergraduate degree, as well as post-graduate diploma in Psychotherapy to my work in retail, with youth, and corporate work in case management. My desire to be of service and empower others rang true each step of the way. While it took a number of years before I applied to the program, it was the home birth of my oldest daughter at home in the care of midwives, that solidified my desire to continue in this work. I am truly honoured to part of this experience and be part of such a special time in the lives of each client I meet. Paula is a British trained midwife who emigrated to Canada in 2005. Following her completion of the International Midwifery Pre-registration Program (IMPP) Paula began practicing as a Midwife in Ottawa where she was the founder and practice partner of a Midwifery Practice (2007 – 2019). Due to her daughters living in the Windsor area and following the birth of her grandchildren, (who were caught by the hands of the wonderful Midwives of Windsor). Paula relocated to the Essex County and joined the Midwives of Windsor in July 2019. Paula is excited to be caring for women and catching babies in this locality and is happy to able to spend time seeing her grandchildren grow. I’m Crystal Hall, Windsor is my home and Essex County is my catchment. I am excited about being a nominee for the CMO committee for the first time. I have been a Registered Midwife in Ontario since 1997. I have worked is Southern Ontario during my career as a midwife in Ontario in “full scope” practice. My practice is a good rural/urban mix with a 30%-70% home /hospital. I have been both an associate and a partner of a Midwifery practice. The College of Midwives has many challenges ahead and I can only hope I can meet those challenges with the skills and experience I have from the 25 years as working as a midwife in England, the NWT and Ontario. My concern is to ensure the clients of midwifery care are receiving the best of us Ontario Midwives. I look forward to learning the College of Midwives procedures and how I can offer my experience as a registered midwife helping to work towards change in the midwifery profession. Thanks for your trust in allowing me to be part of the CMO process. I’m Ginger Girard Fram. Originally from Chatham-Kent/Winsor-Essex County having grown up in Wheatley and going to school in Wheatley and Leamington before going to the University of Western Ontario and earning her degree in Health Promotion in 2003. She completed the Midwifery Education Program at Laurentian University in 2009. Ginger completed her first year of practice with the Midwives of Algoma in Sault Ste. Marie and began working with Midwives of Windsor in 2010. She is passionate about providing safe birth options to women in their home communities as well as educating families about their pregnancy and birth options. She lives in Windsor with her husband and three sons. Ginger looks forward to providing the women and families of Windsor-Essex with excellent Midwifery care for years to come. I'm Jessalynn Sheehan. I graduated from the francophone stream of the Midwifery Education Program at Laurentian University in 2012 and spent my career in Kitchener/Waterloo until now. I grew up in Belle River and am excited to continue my midwifery journey here at home in Windsor/Essex. I look forward to meeting you! Corey has been providing care to families in Windsor and Essex County for the past 2 years and is very excited to continue to do so at Midwives of Windsor! Corey graduated from the MEP at McMaster University in 2017. Midwifery is a 2nd career for her and she has never looked back. Since graduation she has also achieved a Master of Health Manager from McMaster University/DeGroote School of Business and is enrolled in Canada’s first ever midwife-led Master of Science – Midwifery. She started her career in Hamilton, ON, and soon found that a smaller city was more appealing; that’s when she moved to Windsor! She loves it here and has no plans of going anywhere anytime soon! Prior to midwifery, Corey worked in business, but also spent a couple years living overseas in China!! She speaks English, French, and Mandarin Chinese (yeah, for real!). She has lived in many different provinces in Ontario, as well as spending a few years living in China, teaching English as a second language. Corey and her husband have a dog and two cats. She is the proud auntie of many nieces and nephews. She has a passion for health teaching and empowering families to be involved in their own pregnancy journey. Corey hopes to expand midwifery to include services such as Surgical first assist, contraception care, and well woman and well baby care, as well as other care included in the scope of midwifery per the international standard. She is committed to providing excellent care for all people during their reproductive years! In her spare time, Corey enjoys cooking delicious food, both knitting and crochet, playing board games and cards, travel, and following local, federal, and international politics. She drives a plug-in hybrid vehicle and hopes her next car will be fully electric. She does enjoy reading quite a bit, though university requirements take up A LOT of her mental bandwidth. Corey is very much looking forward to continuing to provide care to families in Windsor and Essex County! Jessica is returning with joy to her childhood home of Windsor after spending many years in Niagara Falls, Sudbury, London, Cambridge, Owen Sound, Kingston, and Orillia. She is honoured to provide a care experience where clients can feel comfortable and confident to make decisions in such an important time in their lives. Jessica received her Bachelor of Health Sciences in Midwifery from Laurentian University in Sudbury in 2019, and passed the IBCLC exam in March in 2023. Karen Colmenares has just completed the International Midwifery Pre-registration Program (IMPP) at Ryerson University in Toronto earlier this year. Before moving to Canada in 2012, She practiced as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist in Venezuela for over five years. She also finished a specialty in Fertility in her country. After her arrival, she worked as a sonographer at Care Imaging (ultrasound department) at Markham Fertility Clinic for three years. She has always been passionate about empowering women and their families throughout their pregnancies, labour, and postpartum period. When she learned about the model of care provided by Canadian midwives, she had no doubt that she wanted to be a midwife. Karen believes strongly in supporting clients through informed choice and facilitating a safe and meaningful birth and postpartum experience. Karen has a special interest in pregnancies conceived with the help of fertility treatments and believes that midwifery care can optimally meet the needs of subfertile clients and empower them during their transition from subfertility to parenthood. Karen is so thrilled and grateful to be a part of the team at Midwives of Windsor and looks forward to meeting you.
